Draft policy

Refunds and cancellations.

When a purchased managed filing package may be cancelled or refunded, and how government and third-party amounts are treated.

This draft requires review and approval by qualified Canadian legal counsel before production publication.

Draft effective date: September 3, 2026

What this policy covers

This policy applies only to managed filing packages purchased at checkout for eligible Canadian formation jurisdictions. Completing the questionnaire or saving a recommendation alone creates no filing order or charge.

Before work or disbursement begins

Ask to cancel through dashboard support as soon as possible. A File Canada service fee may be refundable when review, preparation, registry submission, name-search work, and third-party disbursements have not yet begun. Eligibility is confirmed against the case record.

After work begins

Completed service work and non-refundable third-party or government amounts may be deducted from any refund. Government and registry fees generally cannot be refunded after submission or disbursement unless the relevant authority returns them to File Canada.

Rejected or delayed filings

A registry delay or rejection does not automatically create a refund when it results from customer information, name availability, registry rules, or another matter outside File Canada's control. File Canada will explain the next available correction or review step on the case.

How refunds are issued

Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method where possible. Bank and card-network timing applies. The final cancellation windows, any administrative deduction, and statutory consumer rights must be confirmed during legal review.
